| Autosport.Net co-sponsored the well-received booth at the
Salone dell'Auto Torino. Turin's 2000 International Auto Show was a big time event,
with thousands of accredited media and several hundred thousand visitors during the week. The Ayrton Senna Foundation was honoured with a booth which showcased Ayrton's life and legacy. Included were video montages, artwork, literature, memorabilia of Senna's provided by Autosport.Net, and the piece de resistance: Senna's Lotus JPS 98T chassis #1, with eight documented Pole Positions in the 1986 F1 season, used extra parts of which are now available here on Autosport.Net. The media were rapturous with praise for the display and wrote extensively about celebrity guests including Rubens Barrichello (who was quite touched) and about the car, saying that it was as much art as history. The timeless lines and colours of the John Player Special helped make the display a hit. |

Holding Ayrton Senna's trophy from his 1993 Brazilian GP win was simply exhilarating. As a collector, I can't think of an item more valuable both emotionally and monetarily than a winner's trophy. Senna had 41 wins, but this was one of the more important ones to him and to Senna fans. I couldn't put it down!! |
